The first Polish Device for pumping sewage with compressed air that fulfils the European Standard EN 12050-1
A pneumatic EPP sewage pumping station constitutes a complete and fully automated installation.
Through inlet well 1, sewage flows into external pipe retention tank 2, and then it flows through inlet chamber 3, which is located in the dry chamber of pumping station 4 to working tanks 5. The idea of the operation of the device consists in a cyclical pumping of sewage with compressed air, which is pumped into working tanks 5 with the alternete or simultaneous operation of both tanks (depending od the option in the controller). When air is forced in, inlet check valves 6 are independently closed on the inlet to the working tanks, and outlet check valves 7 opne, and sewage is forced out from working tank 5 to the pressure conduit. Compressor 8 constitutes the source of compressed air. Owing to the use of inlet non-return valves 6 as well as a special control of compressed air, a smooth operation od the whole system is obtained without any water hammers.
The hydraulic section of the pneumatic sewage pumping station, which constitutes a hermetic installation, is installed in a dry chamber prefabricated concrete elements). The remaining elements of the system (including compressors and the distribution board) are installed in a ground technological container. Such a solution allows a direct control of the correctness of the operation of the pumping station as well as it facilitates the disassembly, replacement and the maintenance of its individual elements in hygienic conditions.
